Arkar has been passionate about soccer since he was a toddler. By 5, he knew almost every star player in the world with their bios and achievements memorized for fun and would play soccer or soccer trivia with anyone. He aspired to play for Team USA and win the World Cup at the time. With his explosive speeds and creativity, he led his school team to win the Yangon Athletic Conference Championships when he was in Myanmar. In the US, he would be selected as the camper of the week at most summer camps including the Read Madrid Foundation camps, Barca Academy camps, and SoCal ODP+Pro camps.
He’s played varsity soccer at his school since he was a freshmen and created many opportunities for his team to score. He was selected to go to Barcelona Academy in Spain to train there and play with pro teams in 9th grade as well. From there, he was further selected/invited to play with Futbol First at MadCup2025 and 2026, and a few other pro-academies have invited him to play at MIC 2025 and 2026 as well. He has also been on CalNorth ODP travel roster and one of the top 4 players from Northern California selected to go to ODP west ID camp in Salt Lake City. He is one of the strongest players on his MLSNext Academy team and helped the team won the NorCal Premier State Cup last May.
Not only in soccer, he excels in academics as well. He was only one of the two students in Campbell Union High School district to take AP CalcAB in 9th grade. He has finished 4 APs so far, all passing with 5s, and taking 6 AP exams this year while also taking a math class at West Valley Community College. He has attended Stanford Precollegiate Math Circles and a UOL course in number theory. He ranked #1 in MathLeague Math Competitions (Northern California round) in 9th grade and 10th grade and will continue to compete this year. He is also a world scholar and has won many awards and honors in San Francisco round and Xiamen and Dalian Global Rounds as well as at the Tournament of Champions at Yale University. He’s currently working on a research project and plans to publish the results next summer.
He loves coding games, playing War Thunder, and mentoring children in math and sciences in his free time.
