At just 15 years old, Trevon Spencer from Charlotte, NC, is already making a name for himself on the basketball court. Playing as a small forward and shooting guard, Trevon’s dedication to the game and commitment to improving every day have earned him recognition both on and off the court. With a 3.0 GPA and a collection of accolades, he has big aspirations for his basketball journey, which includes playing at the collegiate level, in the NBA, or even professionally overseas.
A Promising Young Athlete
Trevon has an impressive list of achievements to his name. He is a 2x recipient of the NCA Christian Character Award and has earned 3x NCA Leadership Awards, as well as 2x NCA Servant’s Heart Awards. His dedication to teamwork and sportsmanship has not gone unnoticed, earning him the AAU Best Teammate Award and recognition as a standout player at the Charlotte Skill Factory Media Day and Phenom Hoops event.
As a middle school player, Trevon’s hard work and determination earned him the Middle School Coaches Award, and his competitive spirit helped lead his team to become the Mecklenburg County 2023 Park & Rec champions. Trevon’s strong leadership qualities on and off the court have helped him develop into a well-rounded athlete and teammate.
Why He Loves the Game
For Trevon, basketball is more than just a sport—it’s an expression of who he is. “I enjoy playing the game of basketball because it expresses who I am. I love the hard work, and I’m always striving to get better,” he shares. Trevon’s love for the game drives him to constantly improve, whether it’s working on his offensive skills or locking down opponents on defense.
His dedication to becoming one of the best defensive players sets him apart. Trevon admires players like Dennis Rodman, Jrue Holiday, Draymond Green, and Marcus Smart, all known for their defensive prowess, and he hopes to follow in their footsteps.
College Aspirations
Trevon dreams of playing collegiate basketball at the highest level. With aspirations to attend schools such as UNC Chapel Hill, the University of Oregon, the University of Virginia, and NC State, Trevon is focused on achieving his goals both academically and athletically. He is open to any NCAA Division 1, 2, or 3 college that offers him the opportunity to continue his basketball career while pursuing a degree in IT cyber security or a skill trade.

Trevon draws inspiration from several basketball legends, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, LeBron James, and Anthony Edwards. These players have not only influenced his style of play but have also shaped his work ethic and desire to excel. Trevon is particularly drawn to defensive-minded players like Rodman and Green, and he aims to be known as one of the hardest-working and best defensive players in the game.
