At just 14 years old, Trynity Alsaid, a talented setter from Mesquite, Texas, is already making waves in the world of volleyball. A member of the Madfrog Volleyball Club and Poteet High School’s varsity volleyball team, Trynity’s journey to becoming one of the top players in her class is a testament to her dedication, passion, and hard work.
Early Beginnings and Passion for Volleyball
Trynity’s volleyball journey began at a young age, where she quickly developed a passion for the game. Playing two and sometimes three years above her age group allowed her to build a solid foundation in the fundamentals of the sport. Over the years, she’s played every position on the court, but her transition to the setter position just two years ago has become her focus.
“I’m grateful for those early opportunities and the coaches who believed in me,” Trynity reflects. “They’ve helped me develop into the player I am becoming.”
Rapid Rise as a Setter
Despite being relatively new to the setter position, Trynity’s knowledge of the game and rapid improvement earned her a selection on the USA Volleyball 15U Allstar Championship Team in 2024. Representing North Texas, she helped her team bring home the gold medal—a defining moment in her young career.
Earning a spot on her high school’s varsity volleyball team as a freshman was another major accomplishment. Competing against older and more experienced players, Trynity showcased her advanced skills and leadership abilities, setting the stage for future success.
“This achievement was a testament to my hard work, resilience, and determination to push myself beyond limits,” Trynity shares. “Being on varsity so early has helped me grow as a leader and make a significant impact on my team.”
A Strong Commitment to Growth
Trynity is not only focused on excelling athletically but also academically. With a 3.7 GPA and three years of membership in the National Junior Honor Society, she prioritizes her education alongside her sports career.
“Right now, I’m a student-athlete, and the student part always comes first,” she emphasizes. Trynity plans to continue balancing her athletic development with academic achievements, ensuring a well-rounded approach that supports her long-term goals.
Leadership and Team Spirit
As a setter, Trynity takes pride in being the “quarterback” of her team, controlling the flow of the game while keeping her teammates encouraged and focused. She’s committed to fostering a positive, competitive atmosphere and is always willing to help others improve.
“I try to maintain a calm, focused presence on the court,” Trynity says. “Even if I break under pressure, I know my teammates have my back.”
Looking Ahead
Trynity’s goals include competing at higher levels, potentially at the collegiate level and beyond. She’s focused on continually improving her skills and developing her leadership abilities to positively impact her team’s success.
“Although I’m having early success, I still have a lot to learn,” she admits. “As an athlete, you never stop growing—you just keep grinding and building brick by brick.”
